More Hot Tub Parties!

Last Sunday the weather was gorgeous and so we decided to go for a walk and visit our awesome neighbors, Rich and Melissa (Melissa's mom and Sandy are cousins).  They live on our same street......except at the very top of our VERY step street haha!  We were both sweating by the time we got there, but I love the heat and you won't hear me complainin!  We stayed and chatted for a bit and Blake found his new dream grill..... The Traeger.  He wants a grill for our deck so bad!  After chattin for a bit we walked back home and it was all downhill, glorious!  We had dinner at Blake's parents with Lauren, Trav and the kids.  We all kept begging for a turn to hold baby Hadley.  Seriously I promise you've never seen a cuter newborn........like seriously!!!!
Grammy is pretty proud of all her adorable great-grandbabies!
We got to play outside for a bit because the weather was so nice, so happy to finally have it be warm!

Monday I worked at Dr. Sands and then went to boot camp.  When I got home Blake and I got takeout for everyone at Pei Wei.  We had a lovely dinner out at Nicole's and played with the kiddos all night, so fun!

Tuesday I worked at Dr. Johansen.  It was my early day so I got off at 3 and decided to go running.  On the way out it was all downhill and I had a nice breeze.  I ran way further than I usually do and it felt amazing!  The way home was all uphill and with the wind so no breeze and waaaaay hot, I thought I was gonna puke!  Even after a cold shower I still couldn't cool down!  When Blake got home he took me out for a fun dinner to Blue Lemon because he was leaving for Cali for work.  We had the most amazing fish and shrimp tacos!  I was sad to say goodbye and hugged and kissed him at least 100 times!  Thank goodness he is usually only gone 1 night!!!  Mikko left town too so I went to Nicole's and we had a "creepover".  We played with the kids for a while, had tubby time, read some stories and then tucked the little ones in.  Nic and I had some mommy time and watched all her Tivo'd shows like Fashion Star and Smash.  She even let me sleep in her bed with her.  I'm so used to our queen bed that it seriously felt like there was a football field between me and Nic in her king bed!

Wednesday morning I woke up nice and early and headed to the gym.  After work I met up with my mom because Blake was still out of town.  We drove out to South Jordan to visit her friend Laura.  She had twins 9 months ago and they are the cutest ever!  The little boy is named Hank and the little girl's named was inspired by the coolest person on the planet...yep her name is Rylee:)!  I secretly want boy/girl twins! They were so dang cute!!!
Laura's husband watched the kids and us ladies grabbed some dinner at Zupas.  After dinner I got to come home to my cute hubby, best feeling ever!!!  We got right into our hot tub and caught each other up on the last 24 hours!

Thursday I worked at Dr. Dastrup's and then rushed home to go to a spinning class.  I hadn't been to that class before and I loved the instructor and had a lot of fun!  Blake had a huge, crazy busy day at work and didn't get home until 8:30.  We were both starving and headed right to dinner at Cancun Cafe.  Their chips and salsa are to die for......as were my fajaitas mmmmmmm!

Friday morning I went to a spinning class with Whit.  I didn't like the teacher as much and it was like the longest hour ever!  After class I did a few things around the house.  I spent the rest of the afternoon hangin out with Tanisha.  We had some yummy Subway and jammed out to Boyz II Men!  That night Blake and I met up with his fam for dinner at Toscano's and it was delicious!  One of Blake's bosses, George, was in town from Georgia for some of their big meetings.  Rather than stay at a hotel we had him stay at Blake's parents.  We went to see the Chimp movie with him and loved it!  O my gosh they are sooo dang cute!  We slept at Blake's parents too so Blake could take George to the airport nice and early.

Saturday Blake left in the morning for the airport and I got to go running on my old trail.  It felt so good, it is for sure my fav place to run!!  I even ran into my mom out on the trail!  When Blake got home we cuddled by the fire for a bit.  He took me out to get some new running shoes because mine have seen better days!  I found some new Asics that are sooo comfy and I can't wait to wear those babies out!!!
We spent the rest of the day working on house stuff.  I cleaned and did laundry while Blake worked on our swamp cooler.  Our cute neighbors across the street gave Blake a little soccer break and he loved it!  We met Laur, Trav and the kids for dinner at Sonny's BBQ and mmmm it was tasty.  They came over to our house after and we partied in the hot tub and drank yummy pina coladas!
Scott made a swing for the kids when we moved in and it is quite the hit!
We had so much fun with those cute kiddos!!!

This morning we slept in and then went to church.  We just finished our scooby snacks and are ready for Sunday walks in this gorgeous weather!!!

Spring Has Sprung!

Last Sunday we went to my parents house to celebrate Whit's birthday.  Everyone came and it was so much fun!
Grandpa D with Baby Spencer
 Make a wish!

Monday I worked at Dr. Sands and then went to boot camp.  Blake was out of town for work in Chicago.  It was the first time he's left me since moving to our new house.  Last week we got an e-mail about an unlicensed door-to-door salesman with a past burglary history in our area.  They said to keep your eyes peeled and call police about any suspicious activity.  Of course the night Blake is gone he happens to come to our house.......awesome just what I needed!  I freaked and called the police as soon as he left!  I needed a girls night so I called my girl Tanisha.  We had dinner at Zupas and then painted nails at my house and watched Easy A, it was a super fun night.  After she left I went downstairs and talked to our renters about the guy that came by and told them I was super nervous.  I left the door open between our houses and told them if I stomp my feet or scream to come save me haha!  I feel so lucky to have such great renters that I adore and feel so comfortable with, we seriously struck gold finding them!  I got to video chat with Blake to say goodnight, I did not want the call to end because I was super nervous!  I stayed up til 1 watching tv thinking I'd get sleepy.......not a chance with all the adrenaline pumping through me.  I decided to go lay in bed and found a sweet not from my hubby, yep he's the best!  When I got in bed every noise I heard I jumped and freaked thinking someone was in our house!  I decided I needed some white noise so I brought Blake's laptop into bed with me.  I started watching Fool's Gold....but then quickly realized the gunfight scenes weren't helping me fall asleep.  I ended up watching Baby Momma.......twice.......yep that means I fell asleep around 4:30 and woke up at 6 to be to work at 6:45, awesome!

Tuesday I was surprisingly not too tired.  I worked at Dr. Johansens and the day went by pretty quick.  I went to the gym after.  I was still feeling a little weird after the previous day and decided the best place to make me feel better was the temple.  I went to the Draper temple and did initiatories.  It was really nice and helped me feel a little bit better.  After I went over to Nicole's since she is so close by the temple.  I played with her cute kiddos and watched tv with her until Blake's plane landed.  I was so happy to be able to snuggle with my husband again!

Wednesday I worked at Dr. Johansen's again and then went to boot camp after.  I ran home and showered quick and then we headed downtown to Biaggi's.  It was Whit's actual birthday so we all went out for dinner.  Dinner was great and we had a lot of fun.  I'm so grateful for such a wonderful sister. She's is sooo good to me and I feel very lucky to have her in my life!

Thursday my day in Centerville fell apart so I ended up not having to go in to work.  I went to go get some blood work done as part of my yearly physical.  You have to fast before and leaving my house without breakfast was seriously torture for me!!!  I went and tried on some new running shoes, got my ring cleaned and went to the gym.  I went to Whit's after and she made me a yummy little lunch.  I had some more errands to run after and tried to catch up on a little housework.  When Blake got home we grabbed some dinner at Firehouse and then went to shoot at Doug's Shoot N Sport.  Blake was in heaven and even had a burglar target to shoot at!
I, on the other hand, am totally freaked out by guns and it took me a good 5 min of squirming and squealing to get the courage to shoot the hand gun!

Friday morning I went to a cycling class at Gold's with Whit.  I came home after and worked on some laundry.  I met up with my girlfriend Alisha for lunch.  We went to Pei Wei and it was delicious!  Her little girl Savannah is already six months, so crazy!  She is the chubbiest, happiest little thing and I love holding her!  We had so much fun together, what would we ever do without girlfriends?!?  I headed out to Herriman after to hold my sweet new niece Hadley.  Laur, Trav and the kids were all there and it was so fun!  I seriously could have stayed out there ALL day holding that sweet girl.  My fav is holding her up on my shoulder and feeling her soft hair on my cheek, it is as soft as a new baby ducks feathers!  She is insanely cute with her chubby cheeks and full head of dark black hair!  Macie can't get enough of her new baby sister either and kept asking me to take her picture with the new baby haha!
 Love these girls!
When Blake got off work I headed home for our date night.  He took me to Pizzaria Limone (I'm obsessed with true Italian pizza) and then to Red Mango.......Blake knows how to keep his wifey happy!  We went to see The Lucky One after.  It's another awesome Nicholas Sparks love story and I LOVED it!  It's so great though because now when I watch chick flicks, I know I have the boy every girl dreams about. I am the luckiest!!!!!

Saturday morning I had to go for a run outside because it was so gorgeous!  When I got home I ran to a lifting class at Gold's with Kelsi and DJ.  It kicked our butts and I was sooo beat when it was finally over!  Blake went golfing with his dad, Scott and Eddie and they had a lot of fun!  We were planning on going to the Red and White U of U football game so I got all ready (and you have to understand I don't get ready very often haha).  When Blake came home he started doing yard work and realized it was probably better to stay home and work on the house.  He told me to go play with my mom and sister, but I wasn't about to leave him to work alone.  We spent the next 5 hours working away.  We fixed our sprinklers, summerized the swamp cooler, cleaned out the raingutters, mowed the lawn, edged, trimmed trees and all that fun stuff.
Incase you were wondering.....my biggest fear is heights.......my husband had me come up on the roof and help.  I had to go up and down the ladder multiple times and it was torture!
I got all sweaty and dirty and totally wasted my day of being all ready dang it haha!  My husband has the most amazing work ethic I have ever seen and will not stop til everything is done and done right!  He loves yard work and takes so much pride in his house!  It was fun working together in the sunshine and our house looks great.  Spring has sprung at our house and we're getting gorgeous blossoms everywhere!
Our apple tree is starting to blossom and I can't wait for our apples!!!
This is our raspberry patch and we can't wait for these babies!!!
We got ready super quick and headed to Orem to see our girlfriend Hayden's wedding.  She looked gorgeous as always and so happy!
We treated ourselves to a fancy dinner at Macaroni Grill because we worked so hard all day!  After dinner we ran to Lisa's house.  All her sisters were over having a goodbye party before she leaves us for the summer to do sales in North Carolina.  I hate when she goes, I miss her soooo much!!!!

This morning we went to stake conference and got to sit with the Lake's.  They are our cute neighbors that live across the street from us but are in a different ward.  We wish we were in the same ward so bad.  They are such a great fam and their kids are waaay too cute!  Now we're just making some dessert for dinner at Blake's parents tonight!

Baby Hadley has arrived!

Tuesday night Blake had young mens so it was a perfect chance for me to finally finish my wreath.  It turned out awesome and I'm so proud of my craftiness!

Wednesday I worked at Dr. Johansens.  I got off work a little earlier and so I just went to the gym and did my own thing rather than wait for boot camp.  When I got home my husband took me out for a date date at Asian Star.  When we got home we made homemade pina coladas and got in our hot tub.

Thursday I worked at Dr. Dastrup's office.  The weather was insane all day, pouring cats and dogs.  After work I met some of my Africa girlfriends (Kelsi, Lindsi and Tori) for a night at City Creek.  We had dinner at Kneaders and shopped til we dropped.  Because of the weather the roof was closed and it was so warm, best idea EVER!  I love those girls to pieces, thank goodness for awesome friends!!!  Blake spend the night out at Lauren's house to see her belly one last time before the baby came.

Friday morning I went to the gym and then to my yearly physical.  It was perfect because my appt was at the same hospital Lauren was at.  She had a gorgeous baby girl at 8:16 am and named her Hadley Monroe Higham.  She was 8 lbs 5 oz and 20 inches long.  She is the chubbiest little baby with more hair than you could ever imagine.  She is the cutest thing ever!!  I was so excited to finally meet her!  I could have held her all day!  Her brothers and sister love her and keep begging for another turn to hold her!
All the kids wrote notes for Laur.  Tay's says, "Dear Mom I hope your stomach feels better.  I love Hadley and she is so cute.  Love, Taylor."
Sandy and I went to lunch and couldn't stop gushing over how cute little Hadley is!  When I left I ran a few errands and then did some major deep cleaning at my house.  As soon as Blake got home we had to hurry to the hospital so her could meet Hadley.  He was in love as soon as he saw her!  We ran to dinner with JJ and Grammy across the street at Marie Callendars while baby Hadley had some din din too.  It was super fun chatting with J and Gram.  We went back to the hospital after to get some more baby time.
We went to Nana's after with the kids, Pres and J.  The kids are spending the weekdend at Nanas while Laur and Trav are at the hospital.

Saturday morning I went to a powerflex class with Kelsi.  We are both the biggest wimps and had to take breaks every five minutes haha.  We try though and that's all that matters.  Blake went to watch a U football practice with Preston, aka his BFF!  Lisa came up to play with me and we met the boys for lunch at Pei Wei.  After lunch we all went to the South Towne Expo Center.  The girls went to the What Women Want Expo and the boys went to the Gun Expo, it was perfect.  We had so much fun shopping around.  We even met up with Whit, Kesh and my mom for a bit.  Blake and Pres had WAAAAY too much fun at the gun expo.  Lisa had to head home after and so Blake and I met Mikko and Nicole at Tsunami.  We took the kiddos to our house to play.
We got in the hot tub and they were in heaven.
Whit, Eddie, Nick, Kesh, and all the kiddos came to play too.  Our house was packed to the brim and we loved every minute of it!
 Happiest baby ever!
 Everyone loves holding baby Spencer!
We had people in and our of the hot tub, kids swinging on the swing, people watching tv, pounds and pounds of easy mac, taking turns holding baby Spencer, it was the best.  I love that we finally have a house big enough to fit lots of people comfortably!

This morning Blake didn't have any meetings so we both got to sleep in, it was glorious!

Happy Easter

Thursday I worked at Dr. Dastrups.  When I got home we packed our bags……we never really totally unpacked our last bags haha.  My dad met us at our house and we ran to grab a quick dinner at Café Rio.  After dinner we hit the road for St. George.  My family goes to St. George every year for Easter.  It’s such a fun tradition because the little kids make Easter so much fun!  We stay at my Aunt Cathy’s place.  It’s a full house with Steve, Cathy, Hailee, Jon, Rochelle, Dalton, Theresa and our whole fam, but we have a blast!  We arrived pretty late and went straight to bed.

Friday morning my mom and I went running on our favorite trail.  Of course we had to go to my favorite after, Orange Peel.  It’s probably a good thing we don’t have one in SLC or I’d be at least 20lbs heavier!  Blake, Steve, Nick and Scott spend the afternoon golfing at Coral Canyon.  Blake was of course in heaven, that boy loves golf more than anything in the world!  Mom and I picked up Kesh and the boys and we went Easter shopping.  My mom left after shopping to go hiking with Whit and Kesh and I took the boys to lunch at our favorite Parrothead Island Broiler (they just changed the name to Tiki Island Broiler but it’s still the exact same).  I used to work at the one in SLC with my BFF Mandy and we had so much fun so it brings back a lot of awesome memories.  We ate outside and the boys were in heaven playing and throwing coins in the fountain!
When we got back we met up with the boys and headed to the pool.  It was not very warm and we were super sad.  We went straight to the hot tub but the little boys got busted pretty quick because they are SOOO strict about no one under 6 in the hot tub.  I think it is the DUMBEST rule ever.  I understand that kids shouldn’t be immersed in super hot water but the water wasn’t that hot and we were with the boys and they were just sitting on the steps, dumb dumb dumb!  That night we went to a yummy dinner at Paula’s.  It’s a delcious Mexican restaurant.  Our party was so big that we got our own room!  We sat and chatted for a while.  When we got home we went straight to bed.

Saturday morning Blake, my dad, Nick and Eddie went golfing again.  They had so much fun together!  My mom, Whit, Kesh and I took the kids to Ivans for an Easter Eggs Hunt.  They had a lot of fun and got lots of eggs.
The sun was super bright haha
This boy loves candy more than anyone you have ever met!  He was sooo excited about his toosie woll he got in his pre-hunt egg!!!!
These two they are best buddies!
 Finally time to start!
 Boston scored bigtime!
We stayed and played at the park for a bit and then headed to Grandma Scott’s.  We stayed and visited with her for a bit.  The kids love their great-grandma Scott
We headed to the St. George Arts Festival.  It was a gorgeous day and we had sooo much fun, it finally felt like summer!  We had some yummy tacos, the kids got their faces painted and we shopped around (Easton only wanted to shop for chocolate haha).
Boston got a bat and Easton got a basketball!
When we got home we were all exhausted and so Blake and I took a power nap.  They decided to order in pizza for dinner and so Blake and I went out on a date night since pizza is not my favorite.  We went to the salad bar at Brick Oven and it was delish!  He took me out for my favorite dessert at Orange PeelJ.  I love date nights with my cute hubby, he’s my favorite person to be with and always makes me smile!   When we got back we all watched the movie We Bought A Zoo which was actually super cute.  The kids all dyed Easter Eggs while we watched.  When they finished I took the kids to try out a new tradition.  We left a carrot trail so the bunny could find us in St. George.  We planted magical jelly bean seeds in the grass.
 Our carrot trail
As soon as we finished Easton ran inside and grabbed his best friend Blake to show him what we did!
O how I love these boys!!!
When the bunny came he was going to use his magic and grow lollipops from our seeds.  The kids were sooooo excited and couldn’t stop talking about it.  When they went to bed we stayed up late filling Easter eggs and laughing our heads off!  Kath would put a piece of candy in an egg and then one in her mouth haha!

Sunday morning we woke up early and set out the eggs and our lollipop trees.  I also brought baby powder so we could make some bunny footprints.
 Our Lollipop trees
The kids were chomping at the bit to get outside and see what the Easter bunny brought.  They pressed their noses on the glass and saw all the carrots gone and the all bunny prints, they could not wait to get out there.
They were in heaven as they ran down the stairs and hunted for eggs.
Rachelle and Dalton
All he really cared about was his tandy!
We spent the rest of the morning looking through their baskets and eggs.
The boys got their light sabers they wanted so bad!
Saders got her fishing pole she wanted!
Spencer got all dressed up Easter
Blake, my mom and I went for an afternoon run on our trail.  Nick, Kesh, my dad, and the boys rode bikes on the trail.  We met up by a river and threw rocks for a bit.  When we got back Blake and I went out to the pool for a bit.  We came back, packed up and hit the road a little after 4.  We had dinner before leaving St. George at Texas Roadhouse, yum yum yum.  We hit the road and I worked on my new spring wreath for our door, Blake thought it was the funniest thing ever.....wait til he sees how awesome it is!!!!
then just outside of Beaver we hit totally stopped traffic.  A truck pulling a huge 5th wheel trailer with 4-wheelers jack-knived and was blocking the whole freeway.  It was only about a football field ahead of us and so we were grateful we weren’t in it!  We got home pretty late and went straight to bed.

Monday it was back to the grind.  I worked at Dr. Sands.  After work I went to boot camp with Kelsi. We were both cursing the teacher the whole time.....is it necessary to make us work out so hard haha!?!  After class I jumped in the shower and then Blake and I headed downtown to Sawadee for Jamyn's birthday dinner with the Miller fam.  It was so much fun to all be together.  We were there for 3 hours laughing our heads off.  I might have accidentally spilled the beans about the Easter Bunny to little Mikko.........we tried to recover.....hopefully it worked!  Such a fun night celebrating my awesome sister-in-law.  I feel so lucky to have such a great sista-in-law that is one of my best friends.  We have so much fun together and our husbands are BFFs and have way to much fun together too!  What a perfect night!

This morning was my early day at Dr. Johansen's office.  I hate waking up early but it is sooo nice getting off at 3!  After work I went running outside.  It was perfect weather and I was in heaven!  So glad that running weather is finally here again!!!!
